The General Body has decided to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of our Parish in a meaningful manner by conducting various programs in AbuDhobiandKerala.

 

The highlights of the Projects consist of extending financial Support to:

• Conducting Heart Surgery for 40 patients
• Assisting 40 meritorious students in pursuing Higher Education in ProfessionalCourses.
• Help 400 patients for conducting Cataract Operation
• Various other charitableactivities in our Diocese (AS per Diocese Bishop's directives)

 

Aardradeepam 2011

On 24th June 2011, the inauguration of 40 AnniversaryCelebrationwas done by PadmashreeYosuf Ali M. A. at  TheNational Theatre, Abu Dhabi. On the same day, "Aardradeepam 2011" a Divine Christian Musical Evening was conducted with the support of Playback singers which marked the beginning of program for various projects designed tohelp the marginalized sections of the society - Around Rs.4 lakhs were collected through this program. Mr. V J Thomas served as the General Convener Supported by other Program Committee members under the of Mr. Thomas N Abraham asFinance Convener, Mr. Samgi Mathew as Publicity & Reception Convener, Mr. Denny K George as Program Convener, Mr. C S Sunny as General Arrangements Convener and Mr. Kurien lype as Prayer Cell Convener.

Charity Projects inauguration

On August 2nd 2011, OS port of 40th Year Charity Project, the inauguration of FinancialAssistance for HeartSurgeryWas done by Mr. K. C. Joseph (Honorable Minister for Rural Development AndPlanning, Government of Kerala) andScholarships for ProfessionalCourses were inaugurated by Rt. Rev. Joseph MarBarnabas Episcopa of Alexander MarThomaMemorialHallThiruvalla during homeland fellowship meeting. Applications for the aboveCharity projects were invited through Advertisement in the SabhaTharaka. Fromthe applicants 40 eligible students were given Rs 25,000/- each and 19 patients received an Amount of Rs.50,000/- each to Undergo heartSurgeries.

Mar Thoma Dialysis Center, Kumbanad

On 27 July 2011, the Coordination Committee of Dialysis Center was held atThiruvallaPulatheen under the Chairmanship of The Most Rev. Joseph MarThoma Metropolitan and decided to commence the Project of establishing fully fledged Dialysis Units attached to Fellowship Mission Hospital, Kumbanad. The Project estimate was around RS 65 lakhs to

Support Underprivileged people of different denominationsandcastes. The Project is currently under construction and an advance payment to the tune of 30% has alreadybeen made by our Parish for purchasing different equipmentandmachineries during the report year.

• Pre-Marital Counseling course - Rev. K. Thomas and Rev. Dr. T. J. Thomas, Counseling Centre Thiruvalla along with our Vicar Rev. Dr. John Philip andAsst.Vicar Rev. ShajiThomas have given pre-maritalCounseling to 50 youngsters in our Church. In theseclasses the candidateslearn the biblical, psychologicalandsociological aspects of marriage.
• Young Couple's Fellowship - Dr. P.C. Mathew, Rev. Dr. T. J. Thomas, Rev. K. Thomas along with our Vicars led the Course for 30 young couples. As part of this Fellowship aSpecial event, "I STILL DO - A Celebration of Love in Marriage" was held in our Church in which 50 couples participated. YouthForumandYuvajana Sakhyam took initiative for making this event a grand success.
  • Lay-Leadership Training - Rev. Dr. K. V. Mathew, Rev. Dr. T.J. Thomas, Rev. K. Thomas and Rev. C. V. Symon along with our Vicars conducted Special training courses inTheology, History of Christianity, Faith and Practices of Mar Thoma Church to 50 selected Parishioners over the period of one year.
  • Labour Camp Ministry - OurVicars and our members visited variousLabour Camps in Mussaffah to share the Love of God and showed support through prayers. More Activities centered on the Labour camps will be held in future.
• Hymns of Harmony- Our Parish Mission took initiative to print and publish a Song book titled "Hymns of Harmony" with 1001 songs to mark 40 years of Journey in Faith.
  • Photo Gallery - This wascollated to show case the history of our Church through Photos that was collected from our databaseand also from our Parishioners. Mr. Biju Philip took grief effort in displaying these pictures of the Mussaffah Community Center during 40" AnniversaryValedictory Function on March9^th, 2012.
  • 40th Anniversary Logo - A Special logo was designed to signify the 40th Anniversary of our Parishand wasdisplayedthroughoutall the programs held in Connection with 40th Anniversary Celebrations. We congratulate and appreciate MS. RinkuSusanEasow (A-051) for having designed the logo.
  • Wall Hangers & Book Marks - Specially designed WallHangers and Book Marks were distributed among the Parishioners in remembrance of the 40th year celebrations.
  • Literary Competitions were held for the Parishioners and the best literary items are being published in the Church Souvenir.

 

Souvenir

As part of the 40th Anniversary celebrations, aSouvenirwas released on March 9^th 2012 during the Valedictory Function. The Souvenirwas published in order to cherish the 40 years of Journey in Faith of Abu Dhobi MarThomaParish in this foreign land. Mr. SamjiMathewand Mr. MathewManaloor served as the Convener and Chief Editor respectively.

 

40^th Year Valedictory Function

To mark the closure of the yearlong celebrations of 40th Anniversary of OurParish, a grand Valedictory Function was arranged to be held on March 9^th 2012 atMussaffah Church. Many dignitariesgraced the occasion with their eminent presence. The meeting wasinaugurated by H.H. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubark Al Nahyan and presided over by Rt. Rev. Dr. Isaac Mar Philoxenos Episcopa. The Most Rev. Dr. Joseph MarThomaMetropolitan delivered the Key Note Address. IndianAmbassador H. E. Lokesh Mysore Kapanaiah had released the 40th AnniversarySouvenir. Certificates for the participants of Pre-MaritalCounseling course as well as Prizes for the winners of Souvenir Literary Competition were distributedduring the meeting. PadmashreeSunny Varkey and Rev. Andrew David Thomson had delivered the Felicitation Message. 40th Anniversary Theme Song was presented by the Church Choir. Along with special invitees and guests members of other sister Churches as well as various other Mar Thoma Parishes in UAE were also present at this function

A team of dedicated senior members with the timely support and assistance of the members of the Kaisthana Samithy under the leadership of General Convener Mr. V. J. Thomas have toiled hard for the success of the 40^th Anniversary Celebrations
