A VISION OF THE ABU DHABI MAR THOMA PARISH MISSION
Utkal Mission is the spontaneous response of Abu Dhabi Mar Thoma Parish Mission to the God given call and challenge from Advocate PA Cyrus, at the Parish Mission Convention of Sep. 2010 to have a
vision to demonstrate the love of Jesus to the poor. The driving force behind this mission is the message that God blessed us to be a blessing and wants us to be partakers with Him to spread the gospel to the poor and needy. The love of Jesus will be GOOD NEWS to them only when we meet their basic
needs like food, healthcare and education thereby ensuring their holistic development as responsible individuals.
Currently God blessed us to have/accomplish the following:
1. Seven (7) acres of land at Kobaguda, Nabarangpur District in Odisha
2. 53 children staying at our hostels.
3. Completed the construction of two hostels (boys and girls) and mess / kitchen along with ancillary facilities such as Compound wall, Bore wells, Transformer, approach road, etc.
4. Construction of a Mission House and a Chapel is expected to be completed by March 2017.
5. Total cost of construction, land & development is being finanaced by members and well-wishers of the Abu Dhabi Mar Thoma Parish.
The Utkal mission was inaugurated in March 2012 by His Grace The Most Rev Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma Metropolitan during
the Holy Communion Service at Abu Dhabi. Our Vicars, along with the bishops of our Diocese and Delhi Diocese give their guidance for the functioning of the mission. The mission is managed by Director Achen, currently Rev C M Shaji, appointed by our Church.
